Hot on the tail of its older sibling Yakima Valley, the Walla Walla Valley AVA was established in 1984. Once a sleepy corner of Washington, Walla Walla’s winery population has boomed in the last decade to over 65 producers while also blossoming into a cultural getaway that was dubbed by Sunset magazine as “Wine Destination of the Year” in 2005. In addition, Walla Walla Valley is home to the forward-thinking VINEA, the winegrowers trust dedicated to sustainable viticulture.
